Visitation at Funeral Home
Obituary of John Jones
John A. (Bubba) Jones, born July 11, 1931, passed away June 1, 2018 at his home in Clarksdale, MS. He served as an Engineer in the Army National Guard from July 1949 to June 1959. Also, he served the City of Clarksdale as a Fireman and eventually retired as the Fire Chief after many years. He was an avid fisherman who loved to fish for bass all over Arkansas and Mississippi. He was a great husband of 61 years to Margaret Sue Jones, a great father to Brenda Jones Bishop (Greg) and to Mary Candace (Candy) Jones who preceded him in death in March 2016. He took the greatest joy and pride in being the best grandfather anyone could have. He was a natural born babysitter, coach, taxi cab driver, listener, protector and cheerleader to both of his grandsons Johnathan Brooks O'Keefe Bishop and Joshua Wade Bishop. He is also survived by his sister Mrs. Judy Byars (Roy) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Ms. Clyde O'Keefe Jones; father and stepmother Mr. A.J. Jones and Mrs. Aubrey Jones and sister Mary Kathryn Green and brother-in-law Harvey Eugene Green. Bubba was known all over for his sweet, loving nature and his one of a kind sense of humor. He and his friends and firemen coworkers had their own special language that they used with each other. He was truly one of a kind and the angels have another one to sit around the throne tonight.
