Florence Cannon Larson, 87, a homemaker, died Feb. 10, 2012 at NW MS Regional Medical Center. Visitation is Sunday, 1-2 pm at Friars Point United Methodist Church in Friars Point, MS. Funeral services are 2 pm Sunday at Friars Point United Methodist Church in Friars Point, MS with burial in the Riverside Cemetery in Friars Point, MS. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements.
MRS. Larson graduated from Friars Point High School and attended University of Mississippi. Her family was one of the pioneer families of Coahoma County. She was one of the founders of the North Delta Museum and the Riverside Cemetery. She was a volunteer historian of Coahoma County and Friars Point. She was a member of Friars Point United Methodist Church. Her family was one of the founders of the Friars Point United Methodist. She and her late husband E.G. Larson wrote a 4 volume journal of the history of the Friars Point United Methodist church going back to 1836. She was also life long member of the United Methodist Women .
Survivors include: two daughters Flo Larson Shackelford (Allan) of Friars Point, MS and Ann Fisher Larson Luster (Rabun) of Clarksdale, MS. Son Johnny Larson (Cyndi) of Clarksdale, MS. 7 grandchildren Frances West Cook,Kristen Newman Poombs, Erin Newman Pearce, Jones Luster, Fisher Luster, Callie Larson Noland and Virginia Luster
Preceded in death by her husband E.G. Larson. Parents John Paul Cannon and Thelma Suddoth Cannon.
