Obituary of Earsie Lean Green

Reflections of Life Earsie Lean Green was born September 4, 1956 to the union of the late Ollie and Ethel Mae Green in Rudyard, Mississippi. She was the second child of this union. She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Roosevelt, Joe Lee, Rufus Jr. Robert, Elijah, Richard and Ollie. Visitation is Friday, November 12, 2021 at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00 PM. Graveside service will be held at Oakridge Cemetery on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements. Earsie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Moriah M. B. Church in Rudyard, MS under the pastorate of Reverend S. L. Davis. She graduated from Hull Elementary in Coahoma, MS and Coahoma Agricultural High School in Clarksdale, MS. She also attended Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, MS. To serve God is to serve others and Earsie truly had a servant's heart. She worked for over 25 years at the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County (formerly known as the South Madison Neighborhood Center), and came to work every single day serving hundreds of thousands of meals to children, their families and the community. On November 20, 2018, in honor of Earsie's unwavering service to youth and families in the Madison community, the Boys and Girls Club dedicated and renamed their newly renovated kitchen to "Earsie's Kitchen…..Seasoned with Love." Earsie loved her children and grandchildren to the very depths of her soul, truly and unconditionally. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life in every way, and she extended that same love to many of her children's friends and family. She loved to welcome and care for everyone as if they were her own and was affectionally known as "mom," "grandma," or "auntie" to many. She not only filled their stomachs with good food but fed their souls by providing mentorship, a listening ear and lots of love. On Saturday October 23, 2021, Earsie answered her Heavenly Father's call and transitioned into eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her memory her life partner of over 40 years Eddie Morris; six amazing children, son Sedric Morris and beloved daughter-in-love Yolanda Shelton-Morris, daughters Kinthy Morris and beloved son-in-love Jerome Fraizer, Nestic Morris, LaTonda Morris-Harris and beloved son-in-love Curtis Harris, LaShonda Morris, and LaRonda Morris; ten incredible grandchildren, Naiya Morris, Sedric Morris, Jr., Ahmya Fraizer, Jamier Fraizer, Kayvion Green, Marcus Freeman, Samiaya Harris, Heaven Fraizer, Sky Fraizer, and Marquis Freeman; two sisters, Maxine Pointer of Rudyard, MS and Paralee Ward of Chicago, IL; nine brothers, George (Jeanette) Green of Coahoma, MS, Jimmy (Christine) Williams of Rudyard, MS, L. C. (Emily) Hale, Leroy (Susan) Hale, David (Sherry) Williams of Memphis, TN, Percy (Laverne) Green of Willingboro, NJ, Abell Green of Las Vegas, NV, and Sammie Jackson; special sister Annette Morris, Belinda Sanders and Ms. Jessie; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves to cherish her memory her beloved church family, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, the entire South Madison community, and a host of endearing friends. She leaves footprints of kindness and love, courage and compassion, humor and inspiration, joy, and faith. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
