Mary Morganti

Obituary of Mary Dolores Morganti

Mary Dolores Morris Morganti lived a life that was full of joy. Her greatest loves were her family and her friends, and her spirit was always guided by her profound faith. One of her favorite responses was "The good Lord and I are the very best of friends". Dolores never met a stranger, and she was at her happiest when she was on the go. Her love of travel was a gift that she shared with anyone who was ready for an adventure, and those who had the good fortune to have travelled with her have been left with the most indelibly happy memories of foreign places and friendly faces. She was born on August 19, 1932 in Friars Point, MS at the home of her parents, Rock and Lura Youngblood Morris. Her love for her hometown by the Mississippi River was profound, and she loved sharing its history with travelers who ambled across the levee during their trips down the river. Her career in banking started in 1950 in her hometown and spanned over 5 decades. She was a faithful parishioner at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Friars Point and was the organist there for many years until it's closure. The love of music was a lifelong passion, and she enthusiastically shuttled her nieces, nephews and friends to performances that spanned the musical spectrum. Dolores had a lust for life that was infectious, and everyone that experienced her zeal was impacted by it. She is now reunited with those whose presence she has longed to see. Preceding her in death were her parents, Rock and Lura Morris; her brother, Rocco Glynn Morris; her sister, Carol Elizabeth Morris Camponovo; her husband, Charles Peter " Moe" Morganti; and her treasured son, Rocco Stephen Morganti. Dolores is survived by her youngest two brothers, Patrick Wayne Morris(Janette) and Joseph Michael Morris(Joan). Her brothers were a source of great joy to her throughout her life, and have been by her side throughout her last years' journey. She also leaves a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and godchildren, all of whom feel blessed to have had " Aunt Delo" as an integral part of their lives and who loved her beyond measure.
