Obituary of June Lillian Middleton

June Keane Middleton June Keane Middleton of Clarksdale passed away on June 6, 2021, at Greenbough Health & Rehab. She was 93. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. June was born on December 17, 1927, in Goodna, Queensland, Australia to Charles Richard William Keane and Lillian Jenkins Keane. On December 18, 1944, she married a young American serviceman, Travis Doyle Middleton of Charleston, MS, and soon after came to the United States to live. She became a naturalized American citizen on May 3rd, 1955. She worked for the Parole Board at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman for several years before the family moved to Clarksdale in 1962. She worked for the Holcomb Law Firm before joining the Clarksdale Water & Light Dept., where she worked for many years until her retirement. She was a long-time member of Oakhurst Baptist Church. June was preceded in death by her parents, her son Doyle in 1969, and her husband Travis in 1993. She is survived by three sons, Larry Middleton (Cathy) of Hernando, Bobby Middleton (Sharon) of Searcy, AR, and Carey Middleton of Clarksdale. She also leaves eight grandchildren, Coleman Middleton (Allison) of Hernando, Laura Middleton of Hernando, Clint Middleton of Memphis, Brandon Middleton of Little Rock, AR, Allyson Swain (Blane) of Searcy, AR, Alyssa Middleton (Kelby Allison) of Searcy, AR, Carey Michael Middleton (Julie) of Jonesboro, AR, and Jordan Myers (Byron) of Houston, MS. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, Amelia, Caroline, Benton, and Burke Middleton, all of Hernando, Thatcher and Nixon Swain, and Della Bliss Allison, all of Searcy, Kaley, Faith, Mallory, Sarah and Macey Middleton of Jonesboro, and Lillian Myers of Houston. June also leaves behind two brothers, Ron and Neville Keane of Australia. The family requests that any memorials be made to the donor's favorite charity or Oakhurst Baptist Church
