William Furniss

Obituary of William G Furniss

William Glenn "Dub" Furniss went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 27, 2020. W.G. was born on January 29, 1938 in Belen, Mississippi, to Alvy George and Gertrude Mary Alice Ferguson Furniss. W.G. loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed hunting trips with family and friends. He also had some amazing skills on the piano. He often played "Bill Bailey. Please Come Home" and spent many hours teaching his children lessons on his green and yellow shag carpet piano. He had a great love for animals and had an amazing wall to wall glass window in the back of his home, so he could watch the birds and squirrels feed in his back yard. He even rescued his dog Lucky from years of abuse. But mostly, he had a way of instantly putting others at ease and never meeting a stranger. This skill helped him to be very successful in the sales business. He sold a little of everything from insurance, shoes, nail guns, and even the burial plot he will be laid to rest in. He was definitely an entrepreneur before his time. W. G. is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Francine Barrentine Furniss, and eight siblings, Howard Furniss, Hubert Furniss, Isabel Furniss Malone Dill, Juanita Furniss Anderson, George Furniss, Herman Furniss, Edward Furniss, and Annie Pearl Furniss Russell.
