Obituary of Gerald Reed Maxwell

On Wednesday, October 28, 2020, Gerald Reed Maxwell, "Jerry," loving father and brother, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 at home with family and loved ones by his side. Jerry was born February 1, 1938, in Warren, MI, to Clive and Bessie (Sullivan) Maxwell. He graduated from Center Line High School in 1956 and later served in the U.S. Air Force. Jerry was skilled in building trades and loved to share his knowledge. He had a passion for golf and was an owner/manager of Coahoma Country Club for many years. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Clive Maxwell; his mother, Bessie Sullivan Maxwell; his wife, Laura Davis Maxwell; his brother, James Maxwell; and his sister, Lois Hughey. He is survived by his children, Danny (Cheryl) Maxwell of San Angelo, TX and their children Garrett and Morgan; Stephanie (Jihad) Kassem of Tutwiler, MS and their children Danielle, Maegan, and Breianne,; Ellis "Bubba" (Elizabeth) Maxwell of Shreveport, LA and their children Savannah and Reed; Dallas (Jeremy) Earnest of Clarksdale, MS and their children Kendall and AJ; his brother, William Maxwell of Troy, MI; his sister, Carol Maxwell of Erie, PA; and his significant other, Judy Noland and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be 12:30 – 2:00 P.M. Sunday November 1, 2020 at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS with graveside service to follow Sunday at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements.
