Obituary of Eugene Faust

Eugene Bunn Faust, Jr.

Eugene Bunn Faust, Jr. went to his heavenly home on November 12, 2018. He was born on September 2, 1927 in Tutwiler, Mississippi, to Eugene and Floy Faust. After graduating from Drew High School in 1945, he served in the United States Navy. After being discharged from the Navy, he attended Mississippi State University.

Gene married Mavis Moody of Clarksdale, Mississippi on August 1, 1951, and they had 4 children. Gene moved his family to Lambert in 1958 when he and his father opened The Atomic Cleaners in Marks. He was an auditor for the State Tax Commission before opening his own accounting firm in Lambert.

Visitation will be Wednesday November 14, 2018 at First Baptist Church 5:00-7:00pm in Tunica, MS. and Thursday November 15, 2018 at First Baptist Church 12:00-1:00pm in Lambert, MS. Funeral Services are Thursday November 15, 2018 1:00pm at First Baptist Church in Lambert, MS. Burial will be in Lambert Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lambert where he served as deacon and church treasurer. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Tunica where he was a member of First Baptist Church and served as deacon.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, his son, John David Faust (Cathy) of Brentwood, Tennessee and his daughter, Pat Faust Earnheart (Winston) of Tunica, Mississippi. In addition, he is survived by 9 grandchildren: Rob Earnheart, Robyn Sartin James (Darrell) ,Matt Earnheart, Judd Sartin (Lake), Kalen Sartin, Rachel Earnheart, Nikita Faust Dallas (Chris), Molly Faust and Hannah Faust and 3 great-grandchildren.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Bobby and Ricky Faust. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Billy Faust and his sister, Elizabeth Faust Barnes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to First Baptist Church of Lambert or First Baptist Church of Tunica.
