Joseph D. Redmond Clarksdale, MS Joseph D. Redmond, 77, a retired Federal Program Director for Coahoma County Schools., passed away Monday, July 5, 2021 at Delta Health in Clarksdale, MS. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements. He was a lifelong professional educator and huge Alabama fan. Joe served 2 years in the United States Army and was awarded the Commanding General's Certificate of Achievement Award. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame at 3 Educational Institutions; West End High School, Alabama Christian College and Belhaven College. Joe was President of Mississippi Association of Federal Education Programs Director, was on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators and an Instructor at Delta State University for 10 years. He was a member of the Coahoma County Easter Seals Society, Lion's Club President, Coached Youth Inc. for 14 years and on the Board of Directors Boy Scouts of America Volunteer. Survivors include: his wife Joyce Murphy Redmond of Clarksdale, MS; daughters Missy Lanham Wood of Daphne, AL, Frances West Redmond (Dale) Cook of Clarksdale, MS; sister Judy Redmond Johnson of Houston, TX; 4 grandchildren Matthew Lanham Wood, Emma Murphy Wood, Jimmy "Dale" Cook, Larson Cannon Cook.
