Monroe Cebe Pharis
Monroe Cebe Pharis, 76, a retired Plant Supervisor at Wonder Bread for 50 years, died March 17, 2018 at his home. Visitation is Tuesday March 20, 2018, 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS. Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Meredith-Nowell Chapel in Clarksdale, MS with burial in the Rosemound Cemetery in Tutwiler, MS. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Pharis was a member of First Baptist Church of Tutwiler, MS where he served as a Deacon. He attended formal training at Stanford, CT and Grinchwitch, NJ for Wonder Bread. He planted a community garden for everyone to enjoy. He was big hearted and humble. He was very proud of his family, taking them on treasure walks looking for arrowheads. He was a Mason and an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Linda O'Brian Pharis of Tutwiler, MS; son Jefferson Pharis of Southaven, MS; daughters Margaret Ann Terney (Michael) of Clarksdale, MS and Rhonda Carol Hall of Sumner, MS; brothers Wade Jefferson Pharis and Hazel Maupin; grandchildren Erin Pharis, Pharis Hall and Monty Terney and great granddaughter Kimber-Fay Pharis.
He was preceded in death by his parents J.E. and Bernice Butter Pharis; sons "Monty" Monroe C. Pharis, Jr. and Mark Christopher Pharis and brother James Leo Pharis.
