Everett Lavern Youngblood, 87, a retired Farmer, died January 8, 2018 at Northwest MS Medical Center. Visitation is Thursday January 11, 2018, 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Clarksdale, MS. Funeral services are 10:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Clarksdale, MS with burial in the Memorial Gardens. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Youngblood was in the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school for at least forty years. He was a member of The VFW Post 3936 and American Legion. He was a long time member of the "Ranch coffee club". After retirement he continued to enjoy visiting with his farming buddies in Lula, MS. Mr. Youngblood also served on the board at Flowers Manor.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years Mrs. Elsie A. Youngblood of Clarksdale, MS; daughter Susan Youngblood of Clarksdale, MS; 3 grandchildren Charles Youngblood, Hamp Houston, Hartley Houston; 2 great-grandchildren Madelyn Carlisle, Chase Youngblood, Nathan Youngblood.
Preceded in death by his parents Mr. L.D. Youngblood and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Wilson Youngblood; wife Mrs. Irene C. Youngblood; brother L. J. Youngblood; sisters Willadean Yates, Lila Lee Youngblood.
